Congratulations Team!!! A big Thank You to AIPC for helping make this possible!!! I know we are keeping up the great work on Warm the Homeless, lets just keep that momentum for Save the Planet!

Congratulations to all the teams for all the hard work and all the Change that is happening in our community because of Project Change! Keep it up!

Working with Community LINC

Project: Food collection to stock up new resident apartments/education on how to cook economically. Donation of pasta and ingredients, cooking class and recipe cards for economical/healthy dishes.

Challenge Leaders: Laura Daggett (American Italian Pasta)

Status: AIPC made a generous donation of pasta, other ingredients and monetary help (Laura Daggett helped facilitate this donation). Laura pulled in house recipes from AIPC and other recipes from the team's home kitchens. We worked with Cecile to coordinate the appropriate times to meet with residents for cooking classes. Pasta 101 included information on cooking pasta, tips from our own kitchens, and a lively discussion of how to eat the foods we love cheap and easily.

Awaken KC - Feed the Hungry

What We Have –

• Dates scheduled – Thursdays, February 19th & 26th - 6pm – 7:30pm – families will be divided into 2 groups (parents only – we can expect 12 – 14 people at each session)

• Project Theme - Educate families on budget friendly cooking (healthy, economical, easy)

• How – Box of pasta and related-ingredients, handouts with recipes & tips, quick session on integrating these ideas

• Pasta and $500 for additional ingredients

What We Need – everyone can help!

• Please send me 2-3 ideas, recipes, or tips to add to the handout packet. See the attached as an example. Take a family favorite recipe, your tried-and-true tip (we will have 3 different categories – Healthy, Economical, Easy), or ask a family/friend for help. We want this handout to have a touch of every member, to be OUR information, not something copied from a website or cookbook.

• More ideas on how to most effectively reach the group at the seminar and engage them in the process

• Ideas - trivia, team exercise, guest chef, etc – the more ideas we can generate the better

• Cecile believes the best way to add value is to give them information on making cooking time-saving/budget-friendly/healthy

• People to help coordinate the delivery of pasta and ingredients to Community LINC

• Volunteers to assist on each activity night

• Other donations or ideas surrounding this event? Perhaps we could provide meals at the cooking sessions or supply additional ingredients for the families…

Challenge One; Feed the Hungry
Pasta 101 - Feb. 19th & Feb. 26th
5:30 - 7:30 PM

We would all love to learn cheap, easy, healthy cooking habits... and that is what we are going to share with Community LINC Parents.

American Italian Pasta Company has donated enough pasta and other ingredients to fill at least 2 grocery bags to the brim for the Parents at Community LINC.

On February 19th & 26th we will be holding a 'cooking class' to make pasta easy and share healthy/cost saving tips. If you are interested in joining us please e-mail Patti (pkrueger@sfsarch.com) as we could always use the extra hands!
